The Department of Physics has active and vital research programs in both experimental and theoretical physics. Experimental work is done in the areas of: nuclear physics, condensed matter physics, nanotechnology, geophysics and physics education.

Theoreticians work on optical properties of materials, particle & nuclear physics, computational physics and the fundamentals of quantum mechanics.
