Professor Burkardt's primary research interest is in strong interaction physics and the quark-gluon structure of hadrons and nuclei. Burkardt is particularly interested in understanding the role of non-perturbative QCD in the transition region from medium energy to deep inelastic and other high-energy scattering experiments. More specifically, he is interested in Generalized Parton Distribution, single-spin asymmetries, parton phenomenology, Light-Cone QCD and the transverse lattice, as well as Euclidean lattice QCD.
