Ronald Pinnick
Dr. Pinnick has worked on nuclear test reactors at the National Reactor Test Station in Idaho (1966-69), held a visiting appointment at the National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, Colorado (1974-75), joined ARL (the Army Atmospheric Sciences Lab in New Mexico) in 1975, and is presently assigned to the Computational and Information Sciences Directorate.
His recent research has been in development of optical techniques for measurement of biological aerosols, on the interaction of microparticles with intense laser beams, on the effect of atmospheric aerosols on propagation of single-wavelength and broadband atmospheric radiation, on the scattering characteristics of irregular and inhomogeneous microparticles including dust of soil origin and infrared screener smokes, on instrumentation and data analysis techniques for determining aerosol optical properties, and on measurement of physio‑chemical and radiative properties of atmospheric aerosols.
